What Is The Difference Between The Islands? Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno And Gili Air

Even though these three islands are next to each other and share a name, they tend to be very different. Each one has a different vibe and offers a different experiencing. If you have seen one, you definitely have not seen them all, so if you get an opportunity to go to all three, be sure to do that.

Gili Trawangan

This island is considered a party island. The vibe here is Bohemian and there are very many things that you can do while here. If you are the kind of person who loves to be out there meeting the people, then this is your island. It is also fantastic for large groups of people. The crowds on this island are quite eclectic. The party nights are fantastic and you will get to enjoy bonfires, beach parties, boutique spas and excellent gift shops. This island is the most popular and as such, it is also more developed than the others. Here, you will find dive shops and cafes and the accommodation is fantastic.

Gili Meno

This island gives a remote feeling. You can actually enjoy the white beaches and the sparkling blue water by yourself. This is a great island if you are looking for seclusion whether alone or as a couple.  It also works really well for families looking for a place to bond. It is untouched and unspoilt with some of the very best beaches the earth has to offer. This island is quite underdeveloped and has a very small population. If you are looking for water in which to snorkel, this is one of the best places to go. Unfortunately, activities, restaurants and accommodation are limited, but you can visit the turtle hatchery and the bird park.

Gili Air

If you are looking for an island that offers an alternative social scene, this would be it. Here, you will find a wonderful place to enjoy water sports, hang out for a drink, enjoy a meal and socialize. This island is also a party island where they have full moon parties among others. They also have excellent restaurants, shops and beach bungalows towards the eastern show while the western shore remains deserted. This however, makes it ideal for snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing and kite surfing.
